Review of the Arrangements for Dealing with Alleged Misconduct of Senior Officers within Local Government in Wales published

 

Julie James MS, the Minister for Housing and Local Government, has today published the Review of the Arrangements for Dealing with Alleged Misconduct of Senior Officers within Local Government in Wales.

The review, carried out by Owain Rhys James being led by Peter Oldham QC of 11KBW, looked at the fitness for purpose of the Local Authorities (Standing Orders) (Wales) Regulations 2006 as amended by the Local Authorities (Standing Orders) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2014. In particular the “Designated Independent Person” process of investigating and determining allegations of misconduct in respect of senior officers within local government.
