Overview
Jonathan was called to the bar in 1984 and he is an established employment law and professional discipline practitioner. He regularly conducts complex and heavyweight multi-day employment tribunal and professional misconduct hearings.
Jonathan has acted on behalf of trades unions and their members and employers in civil litigation for almost 40 years. He has considerable experience of representing claimants and respondents in the public and private sector in employment tribunals, the EAT and the Court of Appeal.
He has undertaken a considerable number of fact-finding, grievance, whistleblowing and disciplinary investigations on behalf of Welsh health boards, local authorities in Wales and England, school academies, NHS Trusts in England, Welsh Government and major national institutions and charities in Wales and England.
He undertakes advocacy on behalf of health boards and police forces in professional disciplinary tribunals.
He has acted as legal advisor to internal disciplinary panels in the health and education sectors.
Jonathan wrote the course work for the employment law module of the Bar Vocational Course for Cardiff University, delivered the subject and assessed the students as examiner for several years.
He has delivered seminars and given lectures on important legal topics and is willing and able to assist in the continuing professional development of in-house lawyers and human resources professionals.
