Nick Thomas-Symonds is celebrating after receiving a prestigious global award for his work as a barrister. Acquisition International Magazine has announced the winners of their 2014 Dispute Resolution Awards, sponsored by V-Rooms.
Nick Thomas-Symonds has won the award for Chancery Disputes Specialist of the Year 2014 for the United Kingdom, his specialist area of law.
Nick Thomas-Symonds, 33, is from Blaenavon and now lives in Abersychan with his wife Rebecca and his daughters Matilda, 4, and Florence, 2.
These global awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies within the dispute resolution arena, and, crucially, are nominated by their clients, their professional relationships and their peers. Acquisition International’s Dispute Resolution Awards identify and honour success, innovation and ethics across international communities.
Alongside his career as a barrister, Nick is Lecturer in Politics at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University, and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has written a widely-acclaimed biography of post-war Labour Prime Minister Clement Attlee. His new book, a biography of NHS creator Aneurin Bevan, will be published on 30 October 2014.
Nick said: “I am truly honoured to win such a prestigious award, and would like to thank my family for all their encouragement, particularly my parents whose support over so many years has made my career possible.”
