
Civitas Law operates its pupillage scheme in compliance with both the Bar Council’s Code of Conduct and the Equality Code.
We select pupils on the basis of academic ability, sound judgment, an understanding of people and society, as well as a commitment to and an understanding of the legal profession.
A pupil would normally come under the supervision of two pupil supervisors during the 12 month pupillage, with regular appraisal meetings being conducted. Pupils will be given the opportunity to undertake a full range of Civil & Public Law work, whilst broadening their experience with the pupil supervisor and other members of Chambers. Our pupillage positions are offered with a view to tenancy.
Each pupillage is funded in the sum of £12,000 per annum plus expenses incurred whilst shadowing members. Pupils are entitled to two weeks’ holiday in each six month pupillage period. Chambers rent is not payable until the commencement of tenancy.
