Practice Profile

Personal Injury

Has experience in fast-track personal injury claims acting for both the Claimant and the Defendant in matters including road traffic accidents, Occupier's Liability, and Employers' Liability claims. Also undertaken cases under the Defective Premises Act.


Housing

Has a wide range of experience in housing matters, including contested applications for possession on grounds of rent arrears, nuisance, and other breaches of tenancy agreement. Also able to undertake work for both the Local Authority and Defendants in applications for anti-social behaviour injunctions.


Contract

Has acted for both Claimants and Defendants in cases involving alleged breaches of the Sale of Goods Act, and the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumer Contract Regulations 1999, actions for debt, and claims involving the issue of agents' fees and remuneration.


Insolvency

Has experience in matters of both personal and corporate insolvency, with experience in dealing with bankruptcy petitions, winding up petitions, and orders for sale. Has also acted for both applicant and respondent in this regard.


Employment

Has undertaken work on behalf of both claimants and respondents in this area dealing with unfair dismissal, issues relating to protected disclosures as well as involvement in remedies hearings.


Asylum and Immigration

Has conducted a number of cases covering asylum appeals, appeals against entry clearance officer decisions in relation to settlement of children and other family members. Has also been involved in contested bail applications as well as appeals against refusals for a grant of indefinite leave to remain on a number of occasions.


Regulatory

Has a wide range of experience acting for both the Local Authority and Defendants in a broad range of regulatory matters in both the Magistrates' and Crown Courts. Has also represented Government bodies including consumer protection including cases under the Trade Descriptions Act, Trade Marks Act and Product Safety Regulations, benefit fraud, environmental protection, planning, licensing, including underage alcohol sales, appeals against licensing committee decisions, and offences committed in breach of taxi licensing laws, Anti-social Behaviour Orders and Proceeds of Crime Act applications
