Personal Injury
Frequently, acts for Claimants and Defendants in Small Claim and Fast Track matters. Areas of work include:
- Road Traffic Accidents (including credit hire, phantom passenger claims and allegations of low speed impact);
- Occupier’s Liability;
- Highway’s Act; and
- Employers’ Liability.
Cathrine also appears before the Criminal injuries compensation tribunal.
Asylum, Immigration and Human Rights
Cathrine has a busy asylum and immigration practice which includes applications for settlement of family members and points-based migrants, family reunion, contested bail applications and applications under the Immigration (EEA) Regulations 2006. She also regularly undertakes work representing local authorities, the police and individuals in cases involving Human Rights issues.
Chancery, Business and Consumer Law
Cathrine has considerable experience matters relating to credit and debt enforcement including proceedings relating to: bankruptcy and insolvency, possession for mortgage and rent arrears, return of goods, breach of factoring agreements, consumer credit issues and enforcement of judgments. She also has a growing practice construction, commercial and boundary disputes as well as matters relating to wills and probate.
Public, Administrative and Regulatory Law
Appears for and advises individuals and public bodies in matters including:
- claims for Judicial Review
- social security and benefits appeals
- disclosure matters relating to prosecutions in the Crown Court
- Police Property Act matters
- Inquests
- claims involving the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act
- planning enforcement
Employment Law
Advises and appears in matters including claims involving unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE and limitation.
