Alys is a second six pupil in Chambers from 6th March 2017.
She was Called to the Bar in July 2016 after achieving 3 A*’s at A-level, a First Class Law Undergraduate Degree from the University of Liverpool and a Very Competent on the BPTC. Originally from North Wales, she attended Ysgol Glan-y-Mor, Pwllheli.
During her first six, Alys has been under the supervision of both Richard Cole and Simon Hughes and has experience of working on and observing a broad range of Chambers’ practice areas including personal injury, police litigation, public regulatory and immigration law. Her personal injury experience includes a broad range from fast track trials to high-value settlements. She has also attended disciplinary hearings for various police forces in South Wales and the Welsh Rugby Union. She has been instructed on a broad range of noting briefs during her first six, including a HSE Health and Safety trial and HMRC forfeiture proceedings.
She is keen to experience and be instructed in all of Chambers practice areas during her second six.
A native Welsh speaker, Alys is happy to communicate with instructing solicitors and clients in Welsh, as well as conducting Hearings in Welsh.
